This portrait of a classmate has been created by listing her favorite traits, animals and locations. These traits have been used in this portait as she is riding an elephant to her favorite locations in the world. Color blending and shadows have been added to create a believable atmosphere. Using information from an interview and translating this into an image and using organised Photoshop layers were key moves.
First I had to strike a pose in front of a green screen, which makes the cutting out process in Photoshop a lot easier. The work in Photoshop itself has been done 'non destructively', which means that every layer has been 'masked'. Workig this way helped tremendously with going a couple steps back in case I made a mistake. Finding fitting background images, adjusting the sky by creating the right tone, creating a nice balance in the text, working on symmetry and using Photoshop adjustment layers were key moves.
The final image had everything to do with blending colors and brushing shadows aswell as highlights onto the fur. You can take a look at the first image in a bigger format here, the second one here and the tiger over here.
